John Bradberry, M.A.

John Bradberry brings 20 years of experience in supporting growth and high performance. For ten years he has led an independent consulting practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, focused on developing organizational strategy and culture, and on building capacity through team and executive development processes. Client engagements have included work with Bank of America, Wachovia, Novartis, Sun Microsystems, HSBC, Avon, Washington Mutual, Coca-Cola, and Cemex. In addition to managing an independent consulting practice, John has been an adjunct faculty member with Mercer Delta's Executive Learning Center since 1998.

He is currently leading an extended research and writing project to identify success factors for start-up and early phase businesses and to develop useful applications and tools for entrepreneurs and investors.

Prior to launching his consulting practice in 1997, John worked with First Union (now Wachovia) in several senior consulting roles. He worked to successfully integrate newly merged functions and regions within the bank. He designed and led corporate leadership development programs, and developed a research-based success profile to define key skills for the top thirty corporate executives.

Before joining First Union, John served as a consultant with Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., a global management consulting firm based in Princeton, New Jersey. In this role he managed client accounts, partnered with management teams to lead organizational improvement efforts, and trained managers in problem-solving and decision-making skills. His clients included Fuji Film, Merck, Nortel, and IBM.

John spent several years as a Group Leader at Elk Hill Farm, a residential school for troubled teenagers near Richmond, Virginia. In this role he counseled individual residents, facilitated peer group and family counseling sessions, and supervised a team of counselors.

He has also logged time as a professional musician, songwriter, and recording engineer. He co-founded the Blue Dogs, a nationally-touring band based in Charleston, South Carolina, and has contributed original songs to the band's CD releases.

John earned a Masters in Psychology from the University of Richmond, where he was honored as the Psychology Department's Outstanding Graduate Student in 1991, and is a 1983 graduate of Davidson College. He lives in Charlotte, N.C. with wife Kristin and daughters Phoebe and Isabelle.
